Best Romantic Movies

CamilleWelcome to Blue Sun Romance’s Arts of Love

Enhancing Relationship Growth through Art, Cinema, Theater, Literature, and Mutual Enjoyment.

Blue Sun Romance Arts of Love Cinema and Theater section is a wonderful place to inspire Relationship Enhancement. Within this page you will find long lost and wonderful Movie and Theater suggestions. Great examples of Love and the Theater Arts, and some superb and timeless commentary on Movies and Romance.

Love through the Ages has been a constant endeavor of endless Romantic Pursuit. We are no different today than the spirited Romantics were a thousand years ago. Men love Women. And Women long for their Men. The antics, tribulations, and tragedies we endure as humans for anything connected to Love, is something of utter fascination – and always will be.

Keeping the Flames of Youth in the Hearts of Old is the ultimate goal of dedicated Lovers. Each partner understands the joys and efforts that go into pleasing a mate. When you work hard to magnify surprises for your Lover, many rewards spring forth in the forms of appreciation, tenderness, and memory. When you go out of your way for your mate, it won’t go unnoticed.

Movies, Theater, and Music! What better rise to meet the modern era can be said of these fantastic forms of communication? When placed on the stage or the silver screen, the inspiration of these activities are worthy of the highest adoration. And indeed, most of us are totally enthralled when we enjoy the performances of our favorite stars.

Blue Sun Romance hopes to convey to you our love for these Arts with a few of the more deserving mentions in each of the disciplines covered herein. To accompany your ‘Significant Other’ to even the most gluppy of romantic movies, is a treat always enjoyed in the heart. We joke to our Lovers about how awful one show was over the next. We weep inside (though we never admit it) because the tearjerkers are what keep us returning for more.

So May Your Fancy Be… Movies, Great Art, Sculpture, Dance, Poetry, Writing, or Music, we hope you find a touch of Romance on this page that will woo and coo you into the arms of any Lover you want. When we pursue great Love, it doesn’t come easy and it’s even harder to keep. However, once you have found the man or woman of your dreams, then you need every tool in a ready arsenal to win that person’s heart, energy, spirit, love, friendship, compassion, and understanding.

Blue Sun Romance (and maybe Cupid as well) surely hopes to get you there!

Great Romantic Movies!

By Aly Adair, published Feb 12, 2008

I guess you could say that watching romantic movies is my favorite pastime. After all, my husband is a sports fan - all year long. The 200 plus romantic movie titles on my list are broken down by: Guy Gets the Girl Romantic Movies, Other Great Romantic Movies, Classic Romantic Movies, Tearjerker Romantic Movies, Great Animated Romantic Movies, and Honorable Mention Romantic Movies.

My criteria for these romantic movies making the Best Romantic Movies list is whether the movie was good enough that I wanted to watch it more than once. Believe it or not, I have seen every movie on this list more than once. I may have left some off that I forgot I watched. LOL. The romantic movie titles with an asterisk by the title are movies that I have seen at least five times, making them my favorite romantic movies ever. My brother once asked what my favorite romantic mvie is. That is a tough one, but I would have to say all versions of Pride and Prejudice.

How about Broadway and the Live Play of the Grand Theater?

On the Site, My Dear, a great write up on the history of the 10 Best Romantic plays of all time is given. Read on to acquire an insight into how this genre has evolved over the centuries.

Top 10 classical romantic plays in the world are the perfect blend of emotions, passions, romance and drama - a work of art that everyone can enjoy no matter what their tastes are. In a romantic play, the plot is built step by step on the emotions, feelings, needs, humor and personalities of the main characters. Romance drama is a popular genre because almost every human soul carves for love and is emotionally tuned in to the themes of romance, affection, courtship, companionship and marriage. There's a great deal of literature that involves love and romance as a theme or focus. So, take a look at Top 10 classical romantic plays in the world to learn more about the literature of love.

So, if you really want to how love has been focused by the writers of various ages, settle in and take a look at the history of romance in English drama. If we sneak a peep into the earliest romantic plays, we would find that, they are tales of high adventure. The plays chronicled the marvelous adventures of chivalrous knights in shining armor, often possessing super-human power, who, fights and defeats kings, dragons and giants, to win their ladies. The earliest romance plays heavily relied on the myths and fairy tales to highlight the marvelous powers that the main protagonist possesses. Amid the dreary castles, lavish banquets, kings, queens, monks, bishops, pilgrims, and glorious pageantry, the earlier romance dramas take us back into the era of courtly love.

In later romances, particularly those of Shakespearean era, there is a deviation from the themes of courtly love; the connotations of romance shifted from fantastic and glorious and involved more comic and tragic elements. The most common theme that is found in the Shakespearean romance is an enveloping conflict (it can be rebellion, war, jealousy, deceit, treachery or may be intrigue) that usually begins a generation before the actual events of the play starts and is resolved at the end. Shakespearean romantic plays are definitely a work of treasure. gives you a list of the Top 10 classical romantic plays in the world by Shakespeare.

Troilus and Cressida: Set against the long running Trojan War, Troilus and Cressida is a romance tragedy. The play chronicles the story of Troilus who falls in love with Cressida. The themes cover betrayal and deceit.

Much Ado About Nothing: The proverbial “happy ending” makes Much Ado About Nothing a romantic comedy dealing with the lives of the romantic leads, Claudio and Hero, and their comic counterparts Beatrice and Benedick.

Twelfth Night:Twelfth Night is one of the greatest comedy plays penned down by William Shakespeare. The play exploits the theme of mistaken identity, cross dressing, romance and love.

The Taming of the Shrew: The Taming of the Shrew is an enduring play that deals with the battle of sexes. The play chronicles the story of how Petruchio marries Katharina and is tamed.

Macbeth: Also famous as "The Scottish play", Shakespeare's Macbeth is a dark and grim tragedy. The play deals with Macbeth's ambition to become the Thane of Cawdor. He betrays King Duncan and murders his friend Banquo; thus the play dwells on the idea of ambition playing the part of a morally corrupting agent.

Romeo and Juliet: Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous tragedies written by William Shakespeare. The play has love and passions as its main theme; it is a story of two young "star-crossed lovers" who take their own lives.

Cymbeline: The Tragedy of Cymbeline, King of Britain is a marvelous play penned down by William Shakespeare. Critics often place it in a grouping called Shakespeare's Late Romances along with Prince of Tyre, Pericles, The Tempest, and The Winter's Tale. Dealing with deception and treachery, the play is an absolutely brilliant work of art.

The Tempest: The Tempest includes a romantic narrative set far away from reality. Based on romantic themes like supernatural events, exploration, wandering, and discovery, Tempest was relabeled as romance by the contemporary editors.

The Winter’s Tale: The Winter’s Tale is a Shakespearean masterpiece. The first three acts of the play are filled with forceful psychological and emotional drama, but the last two acts are zany and make it a play with a “happy ending.”
